Over The Road Dedicated Tread Wear Testing & Rapid Mileage Accumulation
The Coachella Valley experiences average summer temperatures of 110°F from April through October, with a rainy season from November to March, with an annual rainfall of 3 to 8 inches. Our Remote Support Units enable us to meet your dedicated testing needs anywhere in the United States or Canada. Field Evaluation Services, Inc. can cover up to 1,500 miles every 24 hours on our HSL1 route, depending on vehicle specifications. Our most popular route, BCV1, covers approximately 1,004 miles daily. We can modify or develop routes to meet your specific testing requirements. Each convoy can be equipped with real-time GPS tracking, GPS dash cams, real-time video, and V-boxes. We offer over-the-road dedicated services for PCR/LT, ST, and TBR. For closed course dedicated testing, please refer to our Custom Test Solutions.
Ev Tire Testing
Over 1 Million Registered EV's in California.
Since 2016, California has consistently led the United States in the number of electric vehicles and EV charging locations, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. At Field Evaluation Services, Inc., we offer tire testing services in the largest EV tire replacement market. Our BCV3EV test route is designed as an efficient 134-mile loop, keeping vehicles within a 30-mile radius of our facility. Along this route, there are a total of 68 250 kW, 8 150 kW, and 2 72 kW Super Chargers, with an additional 56 250 kW chargers within 15 miles of our facility. The BCV3EV-EX route extends to a 275-mile loop, featuring 156 250 kW, 8 150 kW, and 2 75 kW Super Chargers. California’s extensive EV charging infrastructure enables us to cover approximately 800 miles on the BCV3EV route and approximately 1,100 miles on the BCV3EV-EX route daily.
Data Integrity & Reporting
At Field Evaluation Services, Inc., we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, actionable data to our customers. Our proprietary wireless system seamlessly transmits all tire NSD data directly to laptops, tablets, or smartphones. This data is collected into and presented in our copyrighted interactive spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and ease of use. We eliminate the possibility of human errors by avoiding manual calculations entirely.
We prioritize transparency in our data reporting process. Customers do not need to wait until the end of testing to access their data. Instead, after each measurement cycle, photos and measurement data are promptly uploaded to our secure data portal. Our Automated Notification Data Alert System (ANDAS) notifies you immediately when new data is available for download and review. This process ensures data is accessible within hours of a completed measurement cycle, regardless of the test type or location.
- Fast data transmission at 1Gbps
- Real time test data progression.
- Secure data uploads after every cycle, preventing data alteration.
- Empowering your team to make informed decisions quickly.
What's New
2023 Update: We have dedicated over 520 hours to developing and testing our latest Tru-Sight™ data packages, enhancing data integrity and collection efficiency. Our summary sheet now compiles and displays comprehensive cycle measurement data for each tire, including Tire ID, DOT, Serial Number, Tire Make, Model, Size, Last Date of Measurement, Current Mileage (in miles and kilometers), Average PSI and kPa for all completed measurement cycles, Current Projections and Wear Rates (in miles and kilometers), Current Tire Percentage Worn, Estimated Tire Wear Particle Emissions (in grams per mile and grams per kilometer), Number of Notes, and Current Cycle Number.
2024 Update: With an additional 245 hours invested in development and testing, our latest Tru-Sight™ Dedicated data package includes all features from the previous update, along with a revised calculation for Estimated Tire Wear Particle Emissions, now presented in grams per 1,000 miles and 1,000 kilometers. We have also introduced an information sheet detailing tire measurement location, complete with photos and tire shoulder identification. If shoulder measurements are requested, they are automatically highlighted, and the summary sheet will provide two separate summaries: one including shoulder measurements and one excluding them. Both summaries include the per-tire average NSD.
Additionally, the Tire Ranking Sheet now enables you to compare Test Group 1, Test Group 2, Benchmark Group, and the Reference Tire Group, providing a percentage achievement metric for each group relative to the selected Group.
Scale and Gauge Calibration Checks
We conduct truck and car scale calibration checks using our OTC 25-ton hydraulic press, equipped with a custom load cell adapter capable of readings in 2-pound increments up to 25,000 pounds. Ensuring accuracy across the full load range of scales is crucial for maintaining the highest level of precision.
For floor scale calibration checks, we utilize calibrated, certified, and traceable static weights.
TPMS sensors and air gauges are verified against our wall-mounted calibrated master gauge, and canister adapter for accurate measurement.
Durometer-Shore A gauges are calibrated against standardized hardness calibration blocks.
Mitutoyo gauges undergo calibration checks using our custom-designed, hardened steel calibrated blocks before and after every tire measurement, whether conducted in-house or in the field
